![]() ![]() Is Friend of the Element all that worthwhile given that it's only for Trait rolls? I have a pretty strong idea of my character's backstory and personality, so for the most part I'm questioning some of my advantages and spell picks, from a question of gameplay as well as fitting to the backstory (which I have written up but in French so ask away if you want additional details).įor example, Swell of the Storm is a spell for knock-down and has the Defence tag that enjoys the Asahina school bonus, but Tempest of the Air is another spell popular for for knockdown in an element i'm stronger with but without Defence bonus, also with a slightly different way to work the contested roll for knock-down. The other players have created a Scorpion Actor who is the bastard half sister Kagemusha of a high born daughter who ended up forced to replace her when she was assassinated, a Dragon taoist swordsman with a dark past she's trying to atone, and an Isawa shugenja with a broken betrothal to a Unicorn and rival cousin who will be more focused on battle magic, probably specialized in Water. I'd have at least 10 more xp for creation, and the GM mentioned perhaps more but not confirmed yet, to a max of 20 more xp in total. Obligation 3 (she feels very indebted to Asahina Ayane, her teacher)īenten’s Touch, Whispering Wind, Legacy of Kaze-no-Kami As a result she's very much the opposite of what a Crab is meant to be and has some serious identity issues.ĭifferent Schools 0 (The GM said I didn't need to spend points on it)įriend of the Element 3 (Air or Earth)/The Voice 3/Sensation 3/Sage 3?Īlly 2 (Daidoji Rokurou) (a yojimbo in the Crane Household she grew up with, a friend, may also be the person tasked with preventing her from running away)īad Fortune: Secret Love 3 (Katsuki Natsumi, a childhood frenemy who acts very possessively with her) My idea for the character is a Crab shugenja of the Kuni family who was taken hostage by the Crane Clan at a young age, and was educated in the Asahina school when a Crane Shugenja took pity on her and saw potential in her. He mentioned a slight social emphasis, young characters, something low key and IIRC being at the intersection of Crab, Crane and Unicorn lands. ![]() The GM has been a bit vague about the setting/campaign style. so i figured I might as well ask a little bit of advice. I'm creating a new character for a L5R 4th table (a game I'm a little bit familiar from a long time ago in much earlier editions but not in depth), and as always when I do I tend to waffle endlessly about my picks etc. ![]()
